A Co-operative MakerSpace: Building Community Part 2

The co-op makerspace for Sharon, Massachusetts, had its second pop-up event in Sharon’s town center. See the video created by KingBird Content for this event. Input is sought for this project’s development; if you have ideas or skills to share, let the group know at sharonmakerspace@gmail.com. Building community with shared know-how, tools, and space, is central to this co-op model.

Co-op and Makerspace, Together?

Is there a way to combine a co-operative with the new movement in makerspaces? In Sharon, Massachusetts, the idea of combining the two is being explored. A recent Green Day Event started a promotion of both. See a video produced  by KingBird Content to get the more attention focused on co-ops and makerspaces:

Another blog, SharonCommunityCafe, describes the evolution of the idea for Sharon with some background on makerspaces.
