The Co-op Cultivators of Greater Brockton (CCGB) have kept the momentum going in 2025 to promote and develop cooperative business practices in the greater Brockton area. Since its formation in 2018, CCGB as a project of Brockton Interfaith Community (BIC), has made it its mission to build a cooperative ecosystem in the greater Brockton area. Originally a volunteer group, the team has since procured four rounds of grant funding from the Community Empowerment and Reinvestment Grant program (CERP) offered by Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED).
Through the first half of 2025, CCGB has facilitated four trainings and trained 100+ youth and adults in cooperative business practices – some trainings translated into Haitian Creole and Cape Verdean Creole.
The current team includes The Collaborative Business Network (CBN), Black Owned Brockton, Friends and Mentors (FAM), Virtual Assistant, and CoopMatters. Soiree District on Main Street is new in 2025 as a meeting place for CCGB events. The current work has built on many past supporters and organizations including The Boston Center for Community Ownership (BCCO) for cooperative business expertise, and past locations for events including Brockton Community Access, Brockton Beer, Equal Exchange, Christ Congregational Church, and Sunrise Steak House.
CCGB is preparing for the second half of 2025 with more trainings to come.
